Yang Chih-chang (1908–1994), pen name Shui Yin-ping, was born in Tainan. In 1933 he co-founded the Le Moulin (Windmill) Poetry Society with Li Chang-jui, Lin Yung-hsiu and others, publishing the journal Le Moulin and introducing surrealism to Taiwanese poetry. This route follows the street where he grew up and the post office of his youth.

龍瑛宗（1911–1999），本名劉榮宗，新竹北埔人。1937年以日文小說〈植有木瓜樹的小鎮〉入選日本《改造》雜誌懸賞小說佳作，登上日本文壇，是日治時期重要的臺灣作家。代表作另有〈黃家〉、〈午前的懸崖〉。本路線從他成長的北埔街道出發，走上小說人物散步的秀巒山。

Yeh Shih-tao (1925–2008) was born in Tainan. He began publishing fiction in Japanese in the last years of Japanese rule and was imprisoned during the White Terror. His Outline History of Taiwan Literature (1987) set out a Taiwan-centred view of literary history. This route features his story “My Second Aunt, the Yidan and I”.

文心在二十一歲時因公出差不慎跌傷，導致右腳腫脹潰爛，幾乎變成殘廢。這場遭遇不僅使文心棄農從商，走入金融行業的領域，也意外地開啟了文心與文學接觸的這扇窗。在旺盛的上進心驅使下，經由「中華文藝函授學校」的磨練，一九五二年以後，散文、小說兩大文體成了他的創作主幹，遂以函授班習作〈諸羅城之戀〉初試啼聲，再以小說〈生死戀〉在一九五八年獲得《自由談》元旦徵文的第一名，達到文學創作的巔峰。相對於文心在小說上所獲得的肯定，文心將寫作重心轉移到電視劇本後，並未能像他的小說那樣得到矚目。
